OWC sent me the Envoy Pro Mini for inclusion in my holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.

My family got our first home computer in 1999, when I was 8. Prior to that I used computers at school and at my aunts house. I started dabbling in HTML when I was around 11, running my own free “website” on angelfire. I’ve been blogging for a living since my early 20’s. I don’t think of myself as terribling lacking in tech knowledge.

At the same time, my partner Ryan just is a tech lover in a way that I’m not, and he’s tech savvy in ways that I am not. For the tech lover or “geek” in your life the OWC Envoy Pro Mini would make a nice gift.

This product was created because OWC previously had a Envoy Pro mini in the past but had discontinued it, and fans of the product were disappointed. So, they brought it back! The Envoy Pro Mini looks like a thumb drive, but it’s a small hard drive that runs at a higher speed. What does that mean?

That means if you have video game on your Envoy Pro Mini and plug it in to a computer, you can load and play that game at a much more effective speed than if you were trying to play that game from a thumb drive. Same goes for other file types such as videos.

The Envoy Pro Mini can work with a wide range of devices including Pcs, Macs, iPads, Chromebooks, android tablets and surface devices. It’s designed really slim so you can plug it into a USB port while leaving other ports on your computer accessible. It has a traditional USB-A side and a USB-C side. It’s designed to run quietly and to stay cool while in use.

The Envoy Pro Mini is available 250mg, 500mg or 1T sizes.

Buy it: Amazon.
