5,000 BLANKETS – A Movie You Won’t Want To Miss!
Inspired by a remarkable true story, 5000 BLANKETS is filled with hope and highlights the power of family and faith. When her husband has a mental break-down and goes missing, a woman and her young son set out to find him on the streets, sparking a movement of compassion towards those in need and inspiring a city.
Phillip’s Wish
“Mommy,” he said. “Are you warm?” “Yes, baby, I’m warm.” “Is Daddy warm?” he asked. And then the then 7-year-old son asked about everyone else – the people on the street and in the shelters. His mom told him the truth: “No, not everyone is warm.”
Phillip’s Wish is an organization that was founded in 2005 by a little boy who saw a need in the world and decided to do something about it. Anyone can make a difference, today is a great day to take that first step. This organization now collects blankets and food as well as over 100,000 essentials a year for the homeless throughout North Texas with the help of local community schools, churches, businesses, and individuals.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I love to see movies that give hope, and have substance instead of shallow subject matter.

I would like to see it because I like the idea behind it. So many people look down on homeless people not realizing just how easy it is to become homeless. Most families in american are only a couple paychecks away from being homeless. Not all homeless people are addicts.
