Elegoo sent me the new neptune 3 pro FDM 3D printer for my holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.
3D printing is such a cool hobby! I almost think of it as having your own miniature factory – and one where you can change up what you are manufacturing at most any time! With 3D printers you can make almost anything you can think of as long as it’s within the certain size requirements available to your particular printer.
If you know someone who is interested in trying to get into 3D printing, this would make an awesome printer for them. If you browse Elegoo on Amazon you’ll see how all of their printers are really well rated. This Neptune Pro 3 is a new printer that was just released this fall and has some really impressive technology.
The ELEGOO Neptune 3 Pro printer has a 225 by 225 by 280MM build volume capacity, which is a good size for most users. The Neptune 3 has silent stepper motors to make using the printer a quieter process. It has a dual gear direct extruder which is designed to provide a stronger extrusion force to allow for smoother filament feeding which can result in more stable and accurate printing. In other words, a better end product!
The Neptune 3 Pro has a nozzle kit which contains a TC4 titanium alloy throat pipe, an aluminum alloy flat heat sink structure, and a brass nozzle. These are designed in such a way that they should allow for better heat dissipation which should ultimately reduce the likelihood of the nozzle clogging.
It offers a smarter printing process with auto mesh bed leveling. It has a non-contact high precision sensor that automatically scans 36 points of the hotbed and collects data in real time and then will adjust the z-axis height to compensate for irregularities or unevenness in the printing platform.
The Neptune 3 pro has more stable printing thanks to dual synchronized lead screws. It has a PEI magnetic platform with a special coating and a spring steel sheet that allows for good adhesion while being anti-warping. This allows prints to be easily removed by bending the print steel sheet.

I agree, 3D printing is a really cool hobby! My son is really good at making things out of clay and wants to be a toy maker when he gets older. I really think that he would really like one of these 3D printers and it would get a lot of use if he had one! I love that this one is affordable and seems pretty easy to use as well.
