I partnered with Wicked Uncle on this blog post. All opinions are my own.
Wicked Uncle is a website that I first heard about a few years ago. I thought it was a neat business for two main reasons. One, it let’s you search through toys by gender and/or age. This is really nice when you’re shopping for a child’s birthday or holiday present. Going to your niece’s 5th birthday party? You can just look at all their suggestions for 5 year olds, or you can look specifically at suggestions for 5 year old girls.
The other main reason why I like the Wicked Uncle site is how they have unique gift ideas. They have toys and other items that I haven’t seen in my local stores. I like this for several reasons! I love giving unique gifts because they’re just more likely to excite or please the recipient, sometimes. I also like buying unique gifts when shopping for kids who own a lot of toys. If I buy a unique gift for a kid who owns a lot of toys already, they’re less likely to have it versus if I buy them something from a local department store.
Today I’ve partnered with Wicked Uncle to feature some gift ideas for seven-year-olds. I have a nephew who just turned seven, so I had him in mind while looking at the website. However, I also tried to include some items that were likely to appeal to 7 year old girls as well! I think seven is such a fun age to shop for in my opinion. Seven year olds are still plenty young enough to really thoroughly enjoy toys, yet they’re old enough to be capable of operating a lot of “big kid” toys as well. Their imaginations are huge, and they usually have at least a couple of specific interests or hobbies that make it possible to seek out gifts that are pretty customized to them.
- For the young lego-fan or car enthusiast…the Lego Race Cars Kit! This kit let’s kids build, customize and race their own racecars! This kit allows you to build a 3 foot track, and 10 different cars. Some kids would love this set just for the fun of playing with the vehicles, while others may enjoy experimenting with seeing which types of cars perform the best when racing.
2. For the little bicyclist! If they already have a bike that they love to ride, why not upgrade it with a hyper pipe bike blaster? This makes a motor sound as they drive around which will have them feeling as cool as they are.
3. For the miniature artist. A kids pottery wheel. Most kids only get access to pottery if taken to a pottery shop, or perhaps on occasion at school. How exciting would it be for an artistic kid to have a pottery wheel that they can use whenever they want?
4. For the pint-sized sports fan. That kid you know who likes multiple sports will almost certainly love this dodgetag game! It comes with two velcro vests and balls that will stick to the velcro. The goal of the game is to get your balls to adhere to the center of your opponents target! so it’s sort of like dogeball and darts combined.
5. For the junior gamer. Give video-game loving kids a taste of YOUR childhood with this throwback pocket video game console that has over 150 games on it!
6. For the budding magician. A lot of kids go through a phase of being fascinated by magic tricks, and it often happens right around age 7. If you know a 7 year old in a magic-loving phase, the Marvin’s Treasured Magic Tricks kit would make an awesome gift! It includes everything kids need to perform 20 magic tricks!
7. For the foodie-to-be. These milk magic straws in cookies and cream flavor make a fun stocking stuffer. When kids drink milk through these straws, it’ll taste like cookies and cream!
If these don’t quite hit the spot for the 7 year old in your life, check out their whole gift ideas for 7 year olds category. They have so many unique gifts!

I love Wicked Uncle too. They really do have some unique items to shop from! I love the Lego race cars! That is exactly what my little guy wants to build all day with his Legos. I love the pottery wheel too. My girls are really into art and I think they would love to practice making pottery with it.
