I was sent a hug sleep sleep pod for review. There are affiliate links in this post. All opinions are my own.
The Hug Sleep Pod is an interesting new product designed to help you fall asleep faster and get a better night’s rest. As described on the company’s website, it’s a cocoon-shaped cover that gently applies calming pressure to your body, almost like getting a hug.
I decided to give the Sleep Pod a try since I have some sensory issues related to ADHD that make it hard for me to settle down at night. The website said the Pod can lower cortisol and reduce anxiety, so I was hopeful it could help me wind down before bed.
I ordered a medium, although at size 4/6 I’m between their small and medium recommendations. Unfortunately, the Pod didn’t really feel like it was “hugging” me when I first tried it on. I think the small probably would have worked better for giving that sensation of being wrapped up.
Once I got in bed and zipped myself into the Pod, I did notice the stretchy fabric applying light pressure. However, I toss and turn a lot before falling asleep and wasn’t able to move around as much while inside the Pod. I like to bend my knees, rotate my arms under the pillow, and sometimes sleep on my stomach – none of which worked very well in the confines of the Pod.
While the Hug Sleep Pod seems like an innovative product, I personally found it too restrictive for my sleep habits and movements. The feeling of compression wasn’t enough to make up for the lack of mobility it allowed. I think it could be great for people who sleep in more stationary positions, but unfortunately wasn’t a good match for my restless slumber! The company does offer returns within 30 days, so I’d recommend giving it a try if you think it may help with sensory needs or anxiety around sleep. Just know it may impact your ability to change positions if you’re an active sleeper.
Right now, they even have a sale going! BOGO 50 On All Sleep Pods!

This definitely sounds like an interesting product! I also move around a lot and get very stiff and uncomfortable if in the same position for too long, so I am not sure it would work well for me. I can see it being super comforting for some though!

It looks pretty comfortable.
I really like the idea but I am an active sleeper also. But I do like the idea.
