Baby Jogger Summit X3 Jogging Stroller Review
As a mom to six kiddos, former foster mom to over 20 foster children, and a former in-home daycare provider; it’s safe to say that I’ve had my fair share of experience with strollers. I’ve lost count how many I’ve owned over the years on my quest to find the best. Because my husband and I love to bring our kids everywhere we go, a great stroller is a must with littles. Recently, I got to check out the Baby Jogger Summit X3 Jogging Stroller and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you.
Baby Jogger
First off, the Baby Jogger name is pretty well known. As a matter of fact, they’ve been on my radar for almost 2 decades, ever since I was expecting our first child over 18 years ago!
Did you know that Baby Jogger was first created in 1984 by Phil Baechler, a young father, who wanted the opportunity to spend time with his then-infant son, without forsaking his favorite pastime – jogging? Well, over the years, the Baby Jogger brand has developed some of the best strollers around. They’ve tweaked their strollers and made improvements over time — and their popularity shows that they have absolutely succeeded in crafted a high quality product.
Summit X3 Jogging Stroller
The Baby Jogger Summit X3 Jogging Stroller came well packaged and was safely delivered to my door. There was a few extra small, sturdy boxes packed around the stroller to keep it from wiggling or being jarred during shipment. Everything arrived in perfect condition!
Unboxing was easy because, even though I mentioned a little extra packaging, it was the perfect amount without unnecessary extras. Within 60 seconds, I had everything out of the box, unwrapped, and spread out.
Assembly
This had to have been the easiest stroller assembly I’ve ever seen. I had to open the stroller and pop the three wheels on. Attach the canopy. Then I was done! It literally took another 60 seconds and we were ready for action.
The Recline
I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the recline on this stroller. Not only is it easy to achieve any angle with the strap release recline belt, the almost flat lay option is great for when my little one falls asleep.
Storage
While the Summit X3 doesn’t come standard with a child or parent tray, it DOES have some decent storage on it. The basket is quite generous and my VERY FULLY stuffed diaper bag fits! (I kid you not, my husband hates how much stuff I keep in there ‘just in case’ and I am able to easily slip it into the basket through the pull-down side.)
In addition to the giant basket, there is also a zippered pocket on the back of this stroller. It’s the perfect place for me to put my keys or wallet when out and about.
Secure Buckle
The buckle is easy to secure and works well to keep my kiddo safe. It’s strong enough that my toddler is unable to unbuckle herself and escape as well.
Great Tires
The Summit X3 Jogging Stroller features three premium, air-filled tires and all-wheel suspension. It also features a hand-operated deceleration brake for increased control and added safety. The front swivel wheel easily locks for jogging or running, or can be set in free mode where it’ll swivel and turn as you walk and steer.
There is also another brake located on the back of the stroller by the rear wheels. This is the typical brake you’d see on most strollers. It works well to lock the back wheels and is easy to put on and release back off.
Breathable Mesh Panels
There are mesh panels that can be found on both sides as well as the top of this stroller. I LOVE how they are secured with magnets instead of loud and finicky velcro. When opened, they also secure together to the top. This allows for great airflow.
Features At A Glance:
- A near-flat seat recline
- Magnetic side vents for increased air circulation will keep your child cool and comfortable
- Travel system option with a Baby Jogger or Graco car seat (car seat and adapters sold separately); consult your pediatrician before jogging with a baby under 6 months old
- Convenient seat-back storage
- Large under-seat storage basket
- UV 50+ canopy with mesh window keeps child shaded while allowing you to easily check in
- Supports children up to 75 lb
- Limited lifetime manufacturer’s warranty on frame
- Meets Disney size requirements (Visiting Disney? Here’s what you need to know for your next Disney trip and also check out these gorgeous Disney bags as you’ll definitely want to grab one for your visit!)
Additional Accessories Available
There are a couple of extra accessories that are currently available to fit the Summit X3. This includes:
I love that these accessories are available but do wish this stroller came standard with both the child tray and a parent cup holder.
My Final Thoughts On The Baby Jogger Summit X3 Jogging Stroller
I can’t say enough good things about this jogging stroller. It’s loaded with great features and definitely lives up to the Baby Jogger name. My favorite feature is probably the full coverage canopy as it comes down REALLY far to block out the sun, no matter which direction you’re walking. The Summit X3 has quickly become one of my go-to options for fast walking or jogging adventures as it pushes so well on all terrains.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
