We recently purchased a spare car.  Our main two vehicles are both vans and neither gets super great gas mileage.  Because this car will just be an extra for quick errands or when our main vehicles are in the shop, we decided to buy something that would be cheaper on gas.  So we ended up getting a Ford Focus.  As you probably already know, space is tight in this compact car so when looking for a car seat to keep in the back for Ruby, we had to choose something slim.  Our hunt led us to the Graco SlimFit3 LX 3-in-1 Car Seat.

The SlimFit3 LX 3-in-1 Car Seat from Graco is their slimmest car seat currently available.  It’s actually designed to fit three car seats across, meaning you save space without comprising safety.  

Loaded With Features Parents Love

We all know that different car seats and price points will afford you various features.  Check out some of my top favorites of the Graco SlimFit3 LX 3-in-1 Car Seat.

The Only Seat You’ll Need:

This narrow all-in-one car seat grows with your child!  From rear-facing harness (5-40 pounds) to forward-facing harness (22-65 pounds) and finally a high back booster (40-100 pounds), this car seat keeps your child safe at every age and stage.

Lightweight Design:

While most convertible car seats weigh between 20 and 25 pounds these days, the SlimFit3 weighs in at 19.2 pounds.  We personally prefer to have a different seat for each vehicle so we don’t have to lug car seats around but I know that weight may be important for those who have to switch seats to different vehicles.  And I still appreciate a lighter weight for when I remove seats to clean out vehicles.  When I removed this seat from the box as well as carried out to the car, I immediately noticed how much lighter it felt!

Fits Three Across:

I remember the days when we had five kids in car seats… it was TIGHT!  As a matter of fact, we had to upgrade vehicles just to fit the car seats as most seats were so bulky.  Rest assured that Graco has tested this 3-across car seat in every configuration possible to help ensure your growing family can fit in your vehicle.  And while we won’t need three car seats across personally, I was amazed at how much space we had in the back next to this seat!

2 Cup Holders:

While you may not think a cup holder can make a difference, let me tell you that as a seasoned mom; IT DOES!  All of our kids loved their seats with cup holders much more than the seats that didn’t have them.  Not only does having two cup holders mean we have a close and convenient spot for food and drinks, the kids love keeping small toys and treasures in them too.  *Special note: these cup holders are designed to work with the three-across configuration.

No Re-thread Harness

The No-Rethread Simply Safe Adjust Harness System allows parents to adjust the height of the headrest and harness to 10 different positions with just one motion, from the front of the seat.  This means it’s super easy to get just the right fit, every time.  Kids grow so fast and having to undo the straps from the back and thread through holes is a pain.  Having this No-Rethread Simply Safe Adjust Harness System means I’m able to keep my seat straps in the best, safest spot for my child; no matter how often and quickly she grows.  (REMEMBER:  For rear facing, straps should be at or slightly below the top of the shoulders.  For forward facing, straps should be set at or just slightly above the top of the shoulders.)
