LaCie carries many different varieties of data storage items. They have every kind of hard drive from the largest LaCie 6big Thunderbolt 3 that can hold up to 108 TB of data down to the LaCie Mobile Drive that holds 1 TB. Whatever your hard drive need is, LaCie can handle it. If you prefer a solid-state drive (SSD), they have the 1 TB LaCie Mobile solid-state drive on up to the 1big Dock SSD Pro that can store up to 4 TB of data.

For this review, I would like to focus on the LaCie Mobile Drive. If your phone is like mine and bogged down with data, then you need a LaCie Mobile Drive. The LaCie Mobile Drive is compatible with both USB4 and Thunderbolt 4. It plugs into Mac, Windows, and iPad USB-C. You simply plug it into your device, and click to back up your files. It will safely store your photos, playlists, documents, movies, and more. The LaCie Mobile Drive is compact and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand so will also conveniently fit in a pocket, purse, briefcase, or backpack. It is password-protected. The LaCie Mobile Drive is available in 5TB, 4TB, 2TB, and 1TB memory sizes.

Although the size of this device is small, its capabilities are mighty. It transfers at a rate of 1050MB/s1 in read speed and an impressive 1000MB/s1 in write speed. You can even program it to automatically update on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. If you need to synch files with multiple devices, you can do that too.

I don’t anticipate having any problems with my LaCie Mobile Drive, but it is very reassuring to know that this device comes with a 3-year limited warranty. If you do have a situation where your LaCie Mobile Drive is damaged (by water or some other natural disaster), LaCie’s Rescue Services will work with you to help you against data loss and retrieval costs.
