Workman Publishing sent me books for my holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.
The holidays are a great time to give the special people in your life books and activities tailored to their interests. Workman Publishing recently sent me several titles that would make perfect gifts.
For my 8-year-old dinosaur-loving nephew Royce, Meet the Megafauna is an interactive book he’s sure to adore. It spotlights 20 extinct megafauna, which are prehistoric animals characterized by their massive size. The pages bring giant creatures like the elephant-sized armadillo and towering Masai giraffe to life through colorful illustrations and tons of fascinating facts. With gatefolds revealing hidden images and details, this large-format book provides an immersive learning experience about these ancient beasts. I know Royce will be captivated poring over every page!
For my niece who enjoys arts, crafts, and animals, the Paint by Sticker Kids: Pets book is ideal. She’ll love the satisfying process of filling in sticker-by-number images of cute cats, dogs, bunnies, and other pets. This screen-free activity is relaxing yet engaging. The book provides hours of mess-free fun. The cardstock pages also allow finished pictures to be removed for displaying her masterpieces!
For adults, Paint by Sticker: Works of Art applies the sticker craft concept to recreating famous paintings. The images range from Van Gogh’s vibrant sunflowers to Degas’ graceful dancers. Placing the numbered stickers one-by-one reveals each piece of art and channels creativity into a meditative practice. The perforated pages enable you to frame the completed paintings. It’s an ideal way for art lovers to unwind this holiday season! I’ve completed almost all of these already and am already planning to buy myself more Paint By Sticker books. Thankfully, Workman Publishing has others for adults and kids alike!
For moms with a sense of humor, There Are Moms Way Worse Than You playfully puts parenting in perspective. With true facts about the bizarre behaviors of animal mothers, from abandoning babies to literally eating their young, it reassures humans that we’re doing just fine. Many moms are often self-critical, and I think this book can be an entertaining way to encourage a mom in your life to keep her self-criticism in perspective. I found this book’s blend of silliness and science entertaining and interesting. It’s the perfect gift for moms of any age.
Finally, The Big Feelings Survival Guide supports anyone on a mental health journey. With guided art therapy techniques, it provides practical skills to process difficult emotions like anger, fear, and sadness. The creativity required yields insight into mental wellbeing. Any friend open about working through trauma, anxiety, or depression would appreciate this workbook’s judgment-free strategies for self-care and growth. The amount of people seeking therapy has increased significantly in the last few years and many are open about their mental health experiences on social media, making gifts like this less stigmatized than ever before.
From prehistoric creatures to abstract art, lighthearted humor to emotional healing, Workman Publishing’s catalog has engaging books for all interests.

I should add that I meant the paint by sticker books, those are the first things I noticed. 🙂 The other books look great too. I’d like the Big Feelings Survival Guide.

These are so neat! I think they’d be just as fun for me as they would children.
