The Hippo Kit allows you to needle felt an adorable little hippo figurine. I love hippos, so this is the one I’m most excited to try myself! While still good for beginners, this kit involves slightly more advanced techniques like attaching eyes and forming more complex shapes, like legs. But the instructions guide you through each step.
All the wool used in Bear Creek Felting’s kits is high-quality wool grown right on their North Dakota farm. The owner, Teresa, is a long-time fiber artist who offers kits, supplies and classes to share her passion. I love being able to support small business owners!
Since needle felting is sculpting without needing to draw, I think it opens up the craft to people (like me) who want to create but aren’t very good at drawing. The 3D nature seems fun and tactile. These kits could make great gifts for crafty kids and adults alike.
