Have you jumped on the bidet train yet? A crazy fact I learned about bidets is that they are actually an invention from furniture makers dating back to the 17th century! I tried my first bidet just over 2 years ago and was hooked pretty fast. If you’re new to the concept and think there’s an ‘ick factor’ involved, I’m here to reassure you there’s actually not! Bidets help you get cleaner and stay fresher, all the while saving money on toilet paper. Keep reading for more info so you can make an informed decision on if a Bidet is the right choice for you and your family.
Bio Bidet BB-2000 Review
I recently got the opportunity to check out Bio Bidet’s BB-2000 and am super excited to share more about it with you. But first, let’s cover some basics on bidets.
What Is A Bidet?
A full bidet is a bowl or receptacle that is designed to be sat on for the purpose of washing the human genitalia, perineum, inner buttocks, and anus. The modern bidet options include a plumbed-in water supply and a drainage opening and is a type of plumbing fixture subject to local hygiene regulations. A bidet is designed to promote personal hygiene and can be a completely separate fixture, or now can be added to your current toilet for space saving, easy use. The latter is often times referred to as an ‘add on bidet’ and is becoming increasingly more popular because they are more affordable than separate fixtures.
Are You Wondering WHY It’s A Good Idea To Invest In A Bidet? Check Out These Reasons:
Achieve Better Personal Hygiene:
Utilizing a bidet allows for personal hygiene to be easily improved and maintained. Even more accurately, with the combined use of (minimal) toilet paper and a bidet, compared to the use of toilet paper alone; you’ll experience an amazing improvement to your personal hygiene. Addressing hemorrhoids and genital health issues might also be facilitated by the use of bidet fixtures.
A More Eco Friendly Lifestyle:
Adding a bidet to your home is an eco-friendly way to help save on resources. With the use of an add-on style bidet, little or even no toilet paper (with some models) may be used; helping save on resources. Remember the lockdowns when toilet paper was in short supply? Having a bidet like the Bio Bidet BB-2000 would have been the perfect way to alleviate the stress of finding no TP in the stores! “Scientific American has also reported that if the US switched to using bidets, 15 million trees could be saved every year.”
Bidets Are Surprisingly Easy To Use:
If you were worried or intimidated by bidets previously, let me reassure you that they are becoming increasingly popular for the simple fact that they are easy to use. The learning curve is truly minimal! All ages and different abled people have been able to master the use of bidets. This includes elderly and handicapped, affording greater independence to some who may have had to rely on others before.
Why Choose An Add-On Bidet?
As mentioned above, you can purchase a separate fixture bidet or an add on bidet. Most homes don’t have the space to add another seat in the bathroom. But the add on bidet options available today make it easy to convert an existing toilet and come at a much lower cost than a separate bidet fixture.

First off, installation was pretty easy. We had previously had an electrician come in and run the power we needed for a bidet so that part was all set to go. To install the BB-2000, we just followed the included instructions and were ‘ready for business’ in about half an hour.
So Many Features!
What really sold me on the BB-2000 model was the variety of awesome features. Not only does it have:
- Slow Closing Lid
- Integrated Night Light (I seriously LOVE this feature for nighttime bathroom trips as I no longer have to be fully awaken by the ceiling light as the nightlight is adequate enough.)
- Warm Air Dryer
- Warm Water Spray
- Built In Deodorizer
- Heated Seat (Seriously a must have for winter time. Once you go heated seat, you’ll never go back!)
I also love all the functions and features available when actually using the bidet and the ease of accessing through the remote makes this bidet seat ultra functional.
Being able to select the wash (front, rear, or vortex) as well as selecting the perfect water pressure and temperature makes using the BB-2000 a positive experience, every single time. I also appreciate the little cheat sheet that came with the instructions explaining what each button does. (I’d love to see Bio Bidet have a laminated copy to have on hand so anyone, including visitors, could easily try out the bidet without worry about hitting the ‘wrong’ button. Of course, there really is no wrong button though so even a person new to the bidet world would be able to successfully use.)
Final Thoughts
I’m so happy to be back in the bidet world! After our previous bidet stopped working, I was so sad. The difference in how users feel is astounding. It’s so nice being able to be fresh and clean after every trip to the bathroom. So my advice to you is, make this the Christmas season you treat yourself (and your bottom!) to a whole new world of clean!

Bidets really have come a long way in recent years. We looked into getting one when my elderly mother was living with us during her final years, but back then, it was more complicated and just wouldn’t have worked out. Thanks for your extremely informative review. Might be time to look into it again, who knows?

The idea of a bidet seemed intimidating to me, but this really explains how it works and is less complicated than I thought. Only a 1/2 to install seems very reasonable.

Good advice for an elderly bathroom renovation
I’ve always wanted a bidet but hubby thinks I nuts (that’s never stopped me before, though)! I love all the functions and choices on this one!
