Nadine West sent me clothing subscription bags for review. There are affiliate links in this article. All opinions are my own.
Nadine West is a personalized clothing subscription service that delivers hand-picked fashion items right to your doorstep. The subscription works by having you fill out an extensive style profile, where you provide details about your clothing sizes, color preferences, jewelry tones, and other style preferences. Based on this information, a dedicated stylist curates a monthly or bi-monthly shipment of apparel and accessories that they believe will suit your unique tastes.
When your Nadine West package arrives, you’ll find a selection of items along with a list of the individual retail prices. You have a few days to try everything on and decide what you’d like to keep. Anything you don’t want can be easily returned using the prepaid shipping label included in the box. As long as you keep at least one item, the ~$10 styling fee you paid upfront will be credited towards the cost of your kept items, so you only pay the difference. This allows you to refresh your wardrobe each month without the commitment of a full-price retail purchase.
In this article, I’ll be going over three different Nadine West shipments that I’ve received so far in late winter and early spring 2024.
Bag #1
This silver-toned necklace is a pretty chain with some silver-toned orbs on it. I was excited that this one included a label that explained it is white-gold coated, as a lot of times the jewelry that comes from Nadine West doesn’t have any identifying information regarding the metal(s) used. I thought this was pretty, but I prefer fine jewelry over ones that are just coated or dipped, as I have sensitive skin when it comes to jewelry. This necklace was priced at $34.99 to keep.
Next was this really soft, bright blue dress. I thought the style or fit of this was pretty cute, the way the chest portions cross over and the waist comes in to create a fitted look. Yet, the fabric is stretchy so it’s really comfortable to wear despite being a little bit form fitting. Blue, especially brighter blues like this, aren’t a color I enjoy wearing but if this had been in another color I definitely would have kept it. It is priced at $29.99.
This top had a shimmery look to it, and a slightly velvety feel. I thought it looked fairly cute, I like the neckline and such. The material struck me as a bit itchy but I have sensory sensitivities so that might just be me. I decided to pass on this due to the material not working well for me. It is $24.99 to keep.
These bottoms had a cute waistband I thought. As someone who works from home, I don’t really ever wear dress pants as I will wear dresses if I attend a wedding or funeral and those are about the only occasions where I need to dress up. So, I never keep dress pants that Nadine West sends. I wish there was a way to specify what type of clothing I’m interested in as far as casual, business or dress. These are priced at $29.99.
The top and bottoms shown here were both sent in this shipment. I like floral in a lot of cases, so I was excited when I saw the print of this top. I didn’t love the overall style though. I don’t usually like oversized tops. This is 27.99 to keep.
The bottoms were some simple leggings. The material felt a bit cheap, and I have a ton of leggings already so I decided not to keep these. They are priced at $29.99.
Bag #2
I love that Nadine West is now sending out some outerwear! This jacket reminded me of the material of a sleeping bag, and it was really soft and fluffy between the outer layers. It’s a bit thick and puffy. It felt like wearing a comfortable blanket. This jacket isn’t my personal style but I am excited to see Nadine West branching into outwear! This is $32.99.
I was also excited to get a pullover! This was my first ever pullover from Nadine West. The lighting in my house was poor, it is a light purple or lilac-type color. The sizing of this seemed slightly off, as it is my usual size but the wrists are extra tight, despite the rest of it fitting me well. I did keep this and have worn it despite the wrists being extra small. I have a little bit of a hard time getting it over my apple watch but once it’s on, I’m good to go. Again, can’t wait to see what other hoodies they send in the future! This is $32.99 to keep.
The bottoms here are flared dress pants with buttons on each hip. The fabric of these felt really cheap and extremely scratchy so I found them really uncomfortable to have against my skin. Definitely not for me! These sell for $24.99
This shipment included a necklace and I tried for over 20 minutes to untangle it, as it had gotten really knotted during shipping (or perhaps while being sent to a previous customer?) but I could not get it untangled for the life of me! Thankfully, this does not happen very often at all, despite items that I receive having been sent to other customers before me sometimes. This necklace is $29.99 but I opted not to keep it, of course.
I was sent a second necklace in this shipment, as shown above. It is a silver toned necklace with interlocking hoops. I thought this necklace was really pretty, I just wouldn’t get enough wear out of it so I opted not to keep it. It is $39.99 to keep. At higher price points like this, I really wish they would specify if the necklace is fine jewelry or not, as sometimes that would impact my decision to keep or not.
Last item in this shipment was this dress. It was a really interesting material, extremely thin and that resulted in it showing up really wrinkled. I imagine it might be hard to keep from wrinkling after being worn, too – which would be a big consideration for me if I wanted to keep his. In addition to the wrinkling though, I just didn’t find this dress to be my style. I liked the necklace and waistline, I thought those were both flattering. I thought some of the ruffling was a little bit too much for my personal taste. It is $34.99 to keep.
Bag #3
This dress is a style and a pattern that just aren’t my style. For dresses I like them to come in at the waist or bust to give some shape. The pattern just isn’t me and the color scheme isn’t usually one I’d go for either. This dress is $29.99 which seems a bit steep to me for a t-shirt style dress.
This necklace is a bit large and also a bit bold for me, I prefer small and minimalist jewelry. This necklace is priced at $32.99.
This top sent me back to being about 10 years old, when people would wear long sleeved shirts under short sleeved shirts. This is just one shirt but it’s made to look like two. The lower sleeves have a geometric type pattern on them. I thought this was cute so I was happy to keep it. It is $19.99.
As I’ve stated a few times, I don’t really ever wear dress pants. So, I opted not to keep these. However, they were not the cheap, itchy material like a lot of the dress pants that I have received from Nadine West. These felt like skinny jeans, and I thought they did a nice job of helping to ‘shape’ my hip area as they adveritsed themselves to do. If I wore dress pants, I would have kept these. They are $27.99 to keep.
I am, again, still so excited that Nadine West is branching into including hoodies and jackets! This hoodie was really soft. I would have kept it if it was another color, but brown isn’t a color I prefer in hoodies. It is $37.99.
Last but not least, another pair of bottoms. These are a velvet like material and I have a really strong aversion to the feeling of velvet. They fit well, but velvet is just always going to be a ‘no’ for me. With velvet being trendy right now, I’m sure someone else would have loved to receive these. They are $33.99.
Conclusion:
Out of these three bags, I kept two items. I would have kept a third if I had a need for dress pants, I just don’t wear dress pants enough to keep more than one pair in my wardrobe. While keeping 2 items out of 3 bags isn’t very many, I really loved the two items that I kept, so I’m still happy with my overall experience! I generally find more items to keep per bag than this. However, part of the surprise element of getting a surprise fashion subscription box is some bags include lots of items I love, and others may not include any that I decide to keep. It’s a bit of a gamble but it’s a fun experience and I find enough items that I like to lead me to continue to enjoy doing these reviews.
