If you grew up in the 90’s, chances are you had a bean bag chair in your household-we had two in ours! We loved those bean bag chairs, especially for family movie nights or sitting on when we had friends over and not enough traditional seats. When I learned about Moon Pods, I thought it would be SO fun to get these bigger and better bean bag chairs for our home! Moon Pod Bean Bag Chair Review

I bought these for all of us to use, but of course my kids immediately claimed them – they also had an absolute blast playing in the giant boxes that they were delivered in! My first impression was that the Moon Pods are incredibly comfortable and lightweight-perfect for bringing room to room as I’m sure our kids will be doing. They weight about 12 pounds which is much less than other bean bag chairs on the market right now.

The beads used in Moon Pods are high density which is meant to provide a zero-gravity or flotation-like sensation. I have to say, it works! The dual-shell membrane is stretchy which is great because my kids flop around on them like you wouldn’t believe. We haven’t had a bean escape yet, despite being used daily! 

The Moon Pods are designed ergonomically to relieve back and neck pain as well, which is a huge perk. When I sit on the couch for prolonged periods, my neck feels cramped and I have to move around a lot to find a new position. On the Moon Pods, I can lay out for a whole movie in complete comfort – that is, when my kids aren’t stealing them to use for themselves! It’s really amazing how weightless you feel in the Moon Pod.

You can also use the Moon Pod as a chair rather than laying in it! It’s very versatile. On top of the Moon Pod itself, you can purchase add-ons like the Lunar Lift to rest your feet on, or the Crescent which is similar to a pillow. The accessories and Moon Pods come in a variety of colors depending on your decor. Best of all? The covers are machine washable! Simply unzip and remove them, wash them, and put them back on! With kids this is a must.
