COOFANDY suit for $150

COOFANDY sent me products in exchange for a series of blog posts, including this one. There are affiliate links in this article. All opinions are my own.

Weddings are often expensive. I think most people have a general understanding of that – but if you haven’t recently planned a wedding, you might find yourself forgetting just how quickly expenses tend to add up. I’m in a bunch of wedding groups on Facebook and other sites, and people talk about how the cost of various wedding related items have increased significantly even from just 4-5 years ago. I’ve seen other newly married people share that they spent more on their wedding than my household earns in an entire year. I’m not here to say there is anything wrong with that, if people can afford it and want to use their money that way. I will admit though that my personal goal with my own wedding is to find a balance between creating a day that feels special, and meets certain standards that I have for ‘niceness’ while also sticking to a budget that I find reasonable.

Groomsmen suits for under $150

In the future I’ll be sharing a whole list of ways that we’re saving money on our wedding and reception. Today though, I’m just here to highlight one specific way we’re saving, and that’s on suits! I hadn’t looked at renting a suit in over 10 years, since my senior prom. However, I remembered that back then we paid around $200 to rent a suit for 48 hours. They would measure Ryan all over, but they didn’t really fit the suit to him that well. The pants in particular, were ill fitting as they would be too long and had an elastic waist that caused the pants to sort of puff out in a weird way vs pants with a more traditional waistline. I thought it would be nice to have suits that all the men could have fitted to them by a seamstress if possible, but I initially assumed that would be prohibitively expensive compared to renting. So, I was really excited when I realized that COOFANDY offers suit separates that can be paired together for under $200, or even under $150!

Their products are sold on Amazon and prices can change at any time. You may notice that the screenshots below show sales and coupons, but I’m okay with saying they offer suits for under $150 because they do frequently have sales and coupons available on Amazon, it’s not a rarity to see discounts like this from the brand.

COOFANDY suit total

This includes a COOFANDY blazer, suit vest, dress shirt, and dress pants. Now, they do just come in standard sizing, so if you want them tailor fitted you’ll have to still go to a seamstress. However, when the items themselves are affordable that makes it easier to find money to budget for a seamstress.

While shopping for suits online isn’t all that common, it is pretty risk free. If you haven’t ever tried returns or exchanges from Amazon, know that it’s not something you have to stress about. Amazon is great at allowing returns if items don’t fit well, as long as they haven’t been damaged and as long as you return them within 30 days. All of the COOFANDY items that I was sent qualify for free returns. If you live near a UPS store you can just take the items unpackaged to the store and they will package them up for you and ship them out. If you don’t live near a UPS store (I don’t as I’m in a smaller town) you can print a shipping label at home and tape it to a box and then take the package to a UPS pickup location. In my town, three businesses allow citizens to drop off UPS packages free of charge.

I haven’t had a chance to get all of the men who will be in my wedding to try on their items yet. However, my fiance has tried on his, and my brother has tried on his. Both men found that the vest size they ordered was too small, even though we measured and used the size chart when ordering. For the photos in this post, Ryan tried on a larger vest that we had ordered for one of his groomsmen. My brother’s vest and Ryan’s vest both being too small for them likely means that the suit vests run small. However, the remaining items (dress shirt, blazer and pants) all fit well enough that they don’t need exchanged.

The specific items that we went with include:

While Ryan has only tried these on and hasn’t really worn them yet, we are really happy with them so far. We like how the dress shirts come with a wrinkle-free property to them as wrinkle-free dress shirt are so much easier to keep and care for than ones prone to wrinkling. We really liked how the blazer or suit coat is a little more fitted or less “boxy” than some other suit coats, we thought that looked nice. And lastly, I love the expandable waist feature on the dress pants! The pants look totally like regular dress pants from the outside, but they have extra elastic on the sides that give them the ability to stretch a lot more than traditional pants would. This is great for anyone who might not wear their dress pants super often, and wants a peace of mind in trusting that they’ll still fit next winter or even next year. With these, if you again or lose a little weight they’ll still adjust to fit you.

Our wedding isn’t until late October, but stay tuned, because after our wedding I’ll share an update with photos of all the men in their COOFANDY items after they’ve been fitted so you can see exactly how they turned out for our wedding!
