Pipersong sent me a slip cover for my Pipersong chair that they sent me to review last year. All opinions are my own.
About a year ago, I worked with Pipersong to review their meditation chair pro, check out my Pipersong Meditation Chair Pro review if you weren’t around to see it. I call this an ADHD chair because I saw this chair advertised as being great for people with ADHD on TikTok. I have ADHD, and I have hypermobility so I find myself sitting in odd positions pretty often. I used to struggle with traditional office chairs because I’d try to sit criss-cross while in them, and the armrests would often dig into my legs.
This collage of photos is from last year, shortly after I received the chair.
Pipersong’s meditation chair is designed without armrests and with an attached footrest! So, you can sit cross-legged without sitting on your feet, there are no arm rests for your legs to rub up against, and you can sit in almost an endless number of different positions. I often sit criss-cross, but I also sometimes sit with my feet flat on the footrest and my knees up, I sometimes sit in the chair with my legs extended down with my ankles crossed. The main part of the chair can spin around (and so can the footrest) so I sometimes flip the backrest of the chair to be in front of me, and lean on it (similar to sitting backwards in a chair).
I have spent several hours a day in this chair for over a year, and it’s still sturdy, I still find it comfortable to use, and I expect to get a lot more use out of it in the months and years to come. I still really enjoy having this chair, and while it is a bit of an investment, I think it is an awesome chair! I really enjoy having it. There had been one downside though, and that was some wear that had happened to the surface of the seat itself.
I have the chair in ivory, and it did come with instructions to not wear jeans or dark colored pants or bottoms while sitting in the chair as it could stain the cover. I wear dark colored bottoms so frequently that I didn’t really even try to abide by that guideline. It would have kept me from wearing more than half of the clothing that I own. So, I knew that the chair would probably stain and it definitely did. It took on a blueish-blackish stain. I also found that the exterior portion of the seat started cracking and flaking over time. Here is a photo of the seat of my chair after a year of use. I also have a cat, and she has occasionally scratched the chair and the exterior is fairly thin so her nails were able to puncture the cover a couple of times.
To address both of these, I was excited to get to review a Pipersong slip cover. They make multiple versions of this chair and the seats vary in size and shape on each of them. I own the “pro” version of the chair, and the slipcover I was sent is for both pro and plus. I was sent the ivory slipcover set to help coordinate with my ivory chair.
The set includes a cover for the footrest and for the chair itself. I didn’t have much wear showing up on the footrest, just a couple spots where my cats nails had punctured it. Still, I decided to try on the slip cover. I found both slipcovers easy to get on. They both have straps and buckles to help secure them in place. There is a lever that allows you to adjust the height of the seat of the chair, and the slipcover doesn’t get in the way of that lever at all.
I LOVE how much better it looks with the slipcovers on!
While I was able to get the slipcover on and secure right away, I have found that it doesn’t stay in place very well throughout the day. As I sit and move around in the chair, the slip cover slides around. There is the buckle and strap that can be tightened, but I find myself re-tightening it several times a day and it will just loosen again anytime that I move. I wonder if an updated slipcover design that had strong elastic straps might keep it in place better than the cloth straps with a buckle? I’d love to see some sort of design that would keep it securely in place a bit better.
This is how I find the slipcover for the seat almost every time I stand up after having used the chair for a while.
Despite having to adjust it multiple times per day, I have enjoyed having the cover. The surface of both now stay warmer than they used to which I really enjoy now that it’s cold weather here in Michigan. My cat has even noticed, as she never used to try to lay on the footrest, but now she does because it’s warmer thanks to the cover. I like how the discolored/stained chair surface is now covered, as well as the cracks.
If you’re considering buying a Pipersong chair, especially in ivory, I’d suggest buying a Pipersong slipcover from the get-go so that you can preserve the condition of the seat from the beginning. I still really enjoy having this chair, it works so much better for my needs and the ways I like to sit than traditional office chairs do!

This is a really detailed and helpful review. I think a lot of people wear dark colored pants but the stain may not be an issue because some people aren’t bothered by that. It’s good there’s a cover option though.
Thanks for your very honest recommendation! I see why purchasing the slip cover would be important from the beginning! I need a chair with no wheels because I slide off. I know quite a few people that could benefit from this though.
