Well, Minnesota is back to true winter temperatures this week and I’m daydreaming about just three short weeks ago when we were basking in the Florida sun! We try to travel south at least once each winter to escape the cold, dreary weather-and this year was no different! We visited Walt Disney World, Legoland, Universal Studios, and Clearwater Beach at the beginning of February, and it was SO much fun – a trip full of new memories. Our kids are growing up so fast, and I’m so grateful that we can take these vacations with them.
Vacationing at Walt Disney World – Staying On-Site
When we visit Walt Disney World, we love to stay on-site. Not only is it so much easier to get into the theme parks in the morning, we just LOVE the theming of the resorts! On this trip, we stayed at Art of Animation and Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort, and we loved both of them. Art of Animation featured massive statues of characters from Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Cars, and The Little Mermaid! We loved the food court and riding The Skyliner to the parks in the morning. The second hotel, Caribbean Beach, was absolutely stunning. It’s filled with lush vegetation, access to The Skyliner, and one of our very favorite pools at Disney World!
The Spanish citadel pool has two water slides and the most incredible fortress theme. I wish we’d had more time to spend at the pool, but we got in every second of splashing that we could around our days at the theme parks! Of course, a trip to the pool wouldn’t be nearly as fun without matching swim trunks from Tom & Teddy! For years, Tom & Teddy have been our favorite swim trunks for my husband and son.
This year we decided to go with the Tom & Teddy Rose & Flamingo Set – the bright colors are SO fun and what’s more perfect for Florida than a flamboyance of flamingos?! Lincoln is between sizes 8 and 10 right now, so we decided to size up to the 9/10 option for him, and I’m glad we did! He has room to grow in the swim trunks, and with the elastic waistband and functional drawstring, we can get them to the appropriate tightness/comfort level.
Tom & Teddy trunks are made of a super-soft, quick-drying cloth which makes them great for relaxing by the pool, swimming, or taking the stairs to the water slide 100 times! I wish I’d counted how many times we did the water slides at Caribbean Beach Resort – they were an absolute blast! Since these swim shorts are resistant to salt water and chlorine, I never have to worry about the colors fading or the material becoming see-through.
Tom & Teddy swim trunks have an open pocket on each side as well as a Velcro-closure back pocket – so even if your big sister decides to flip and dunk you in the pool, you won’t have to worry about losing that cool rock you found or your hotel key card!
Our white Minnesota skin wasn’t ready for the Florida sun, so we did apply sunscreen almost every day. One thing I really love about Tom & Teddy swim trunks is that they’re UPF50+, so we only need to focus on the upper body for sun protection. Looking at all of these vacation pictures makes me want to plan another trip ASAP! The joy that Disney World brings to our family just can’t be measured; we make so many cherished memories that I know will stick with us forever. Lincoln absolutely LOVES wearing clothes that match Tyler’s, and he gets to experience that at Disney World more than anywhere else. I’m so grateful they get to bond over their adorable matching swim trunks from Tom & Teddy along with how much they love splashing me in the pool, ha!
